# Having problems running the program itself after update

I had booted up tiled to check that my tileset was still working correctly to find a new update had came out. I went ahead and downloaded... and now I am having problems LOCATING the program, and so is my computer. I am unable to launch it. Funny thing is I never changed the file location, so I have no idea what happened to it. Here's the error message that's popping up...

You must have tried to update from Tiled 0.18.0 or earlier to a later version. Due to a change in the way the Tiled installer works, it is not able to do this upgrade correctly, but I did not find a way to avoid this problem nor to prevent users from running this upgrade. Hence I wrote a warning in the [0.18.1](http://discourse.mapeditor.org/t/tiled-0-18-1-released/1981) and [0.18.2](http://discourse.mapeditor.org/t/tiled-0-18-2-released/2064) release notes, but maybe it was too early to remove this warning…

In any case, you can fix this by uninstalling all versions of Tiled and then re-installing 0.18.1 or later (I recommend 1.0.1 of course).

It should be possible to trigger the uninstall from the “Add or Remove Programs” section you can find in the control panel (not sure how the latest version of Windows calls it).
