Is Tiled safe to download?

Hello, I am new to Tiled. I want to download the app for my Game Design class but my Windows Defender said it might be a potential risk to run it.

Is Tiled safe to download it and install it?

As long as you’re downloading it from the official source (i.e. https://thorbjorn.itch.io/tiled), yes, it is safe. Do not download it from anywhere else.

Windows might complain because of the way the code is signed, but the code is not malicious.

Just curious, but did you download the latest release or a development snapshot?

The release builds are signed (by SignPath) since Tiled 1.3.2, which I hoped would calm down Windows Defender. But it may still warn for each new release until it would be recognized as safe.
