tried all the usually workarounds to try to get this installed. i actually installed 1.8.3 earlier today and it worked fine until i ran into the crashing issue. looking forward to getting it installed and putting Tiled to use.
I can confirm the same issue. Try installing from GitHub until Bjorn sees this
