Zooming in tileset window suddenly not working properly

Tiled 1.11.2
Been using Tiled for some time and just two days ago, the Tilesets window zoom is all wonky. It zooms the individual tiles and then they all squish together. By default there is a ton of space between all the tiles - was never like this before.

Wondered if I accidentally pressed a key to cause this but went through all the settings and compared to another computer where it is working fine.

Running on Arch linux and also was thinking an update a few days ago caused this - perhaps in some supporting .so file?

I am running Tiled 1.11.2 on Arch Linux too and experiencing the exact same issue.

Oh I am so glad. Thought I was losing my mind. Thanks for confirming.

Could it be you ended up accidentally enabling the dynamic wrapping option? If so, please try disabling it.

If not, can either of you show a screenshot of the problem?

I did not have that turned on but when I did, CTRL-Mousewheel just moves the area up and down.

When I CTRL-MW scroll the individual tiles get bigger and then connect and begin to overlap:

It’s weird. It zooms up the individual tiles - not the entire tileset. Plus by default, all the tiles are really spaced-out in the tileset area.

Since you’re saying you’re on Arch Linux, I guess you are using Tiled from the repositories? I wonder if it might be related to a Qt update somehow. Which Qt version is Tiled using? (you can check tiled.qtVersion in the Console view)

Please also try if this issue also happens with the Qt 6 AppImage from Release Tiled 1.11.2 · mapeditor/tiled · GitHub.

Qt version: 6.9.0
Will see if I can use the AppImage

Tiled 1.11.2 Qt6 AppImage works properly - thank you.

My system has Qt 6.9.0-1 installed.

Alright, I’ve installed Qt 6.9 and indeed can see the tileset view is now totally broken. What a weird regression… I’ll need to figure out why this broke and how to fix it.

When I have a fix I’ll be sure to send a patch to the maintainer of the Arch Linux Tiled package, but given that Easter holiday starts tomorrow I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it.

In the meantime one can at least still use the Tiled AppImage or install Tiled through Flatpak.
