I know this is a newbie question, but I cannot see how to add a point object. I see “insert rectangle”, “insert ellipse” and so on but no “insert point”. Please help! I’m using a mac.

The point object was added after the 1.0 release, so you’d either have to wait until 1.1 is out or, preferably, install a development snapshot, which will let you place point objects.
Of course, the development snapshot may be less stable than the release and also compatibility for any new features is not guaranteed until they are included in a release.
