Erasing with "AutoMap while drawing"?

Is it possible to get automap to erase tiles correctly when “AutoMap while drawing” is turned on?

For example;

  1. I draw a square like this on my “template” layer with “AutoMap while drawing” turned on;

  2. I erase this square on my “template” layer;

  3. Nothing changes. The output layer still contains the tile I’ve deleted but it is now gone from the template layer.

Is it possible to get Automap to re-generate the output layer from scratch, or at least to realise I’ve deleted a tile on the template? Deleting the output layer and doing a full automap fixes the issue but I don’t want to have to do that every time I erase a tile.
