Object-layer for walls and static structures

Hi, I’ve just found Tiled as I’m looking for a tool to draw DnD maps.
I’m using the FA_mapmaking_pack but I’m having a hardtime with the size of the assets, my map is a 50x50 px battlemap, 174x234 tiles. My terrain texture is 1000x1000 px, when I try to use it, I can only select a 1/20 portion for the tile. I wanna resize the jpg to use it as a tile, but turning a 1000x1000 into a 50x50 in photoshop just makes it a smudge. I’ve managed to do what I want with objects. But I’m quite sure there are better ways to do that., the question is how?

Are these huge tiles just square images meant to fit within a single square on your map grid? In that case, I would suggest to set your tileset up with your full 1000x1000 tiles while setting the Tile Render Size property of the Tileset to Map Grid Size:

Then Tiled will take care of scaling down the tiles from that tileset to fit the grid.

Hi! That solves most of it! Thanks!
It still looks smudgy, but I think that’s due to the “zoom out” effect from such a reduction. But thats way easier to solve in photoshop by rescaling the pictures.
