Blob tilesets using automapping?

Is it possible to use automapping rules to automate the usage of 47-tile-variant “blob” tilesets? (I’m using the vocabulary from here: http://personal.boristhebrave.com/tutorials/tileset-roundup)

I know I can use “marching squares” tilesets with the terrain tool but recently I’ve been looking to expand the flexibility of my tilesets.

Yes it works @bjorn and I spent some while figuring out some corner cases though… Be careful with flipped tile though
